About the Congress
"Another Europe is possible - democratic, peaceful, ecological, feminist, based on solidarity" - This is the motto of the European Congress organised by Attac and partners in cooperation with the University of Kassel Faculty of Social Sciences subdivision Globalisation and Politics which will take place from 5th – 7th October. All podium discussions and fora will be held on campus in the Campus Centre, Holländischer Platz.

Travel:Journey time is 17 minutes from the rail station KasselWilhelmshöhe to the stop Holländischer Platz – University.Take tram no. 1 or bus no. 52 in the direction Holländische Strasse/Vellmar.
The workshops are in seminar rooms in different buildings all just a short walking distance from each other. Catering is provided by the student canteen from Friday evening up until and including Sunday lunchtime. Drinks and snacks will also be provided.
We are making efforts to organise free sleeping accommodation. There will definitely be a private bed exchange “Bettenbörse” and presumably a gym hall to sleep in as well.
The Congress will get underway at 7.30pm on Friday, 5th October with the opening podium discussion and closes at 1.30pm after the final podium discussion on Sunday, 7th October. To enable us to start on time registration will be open from 4pm on Friday. Please come on time. Dinner will be served from 6pm in the canteen opposite the Campus Center.
On Saturday evening Esther Bejarano and the Microphone Mafia will get the Congress onto the floor with a mix of European protest songs, partisan songs and hip-hop.

Lunch and dinner are in the student canteen besides the venue. Meals are not included in the fee.
During the congress we will be offering child care on Saturday and Sunday.
Overnight accommodation is available free of charge in the Schule am Wall [school] gym-hall (Schützenplatz 3, 34117 Kassel). Additionally, some locals are offering overnight accommodation, which can be reserved via the Bettenbörse.
